Belgium - Zolder
RSR visits Zolder on a regular basis with our rental race cars. Many of our clients are making their way to Nurburg or Spa to or from Amsterdam and then Zolder fits rather well into a stop-off location between the two for some track action.
Circuit Zolder in Belgium was built in 1963, it is also known as Circuit Terlaemen found in the town Haeusden-Zolder. The former F1 track is based just 2hrs from the Nurburgring and only 1hr from Spa. Its history is steeped in major international motoring events from various series that stretch a long way back. F1 returned back to the then shortened versions of Spa Francorchamps after the last race in 1984 at Zolder. Big events today include the FIA WTCC Race of Belgium, the GT Blecar championship, the 24hrs of Zolder.
With 10 turns and 4,011km's long, Zolder is a great track that gives a driver a good test - very tight chicanes, fast sweeping bends, tricky braking zones and good spots for overtaking with some varied lines that one can drive. It certainly provides decent entertainment for the driver and thats why this a popular circuit all year round with racing and track day events.
It is also a very spectator friendly circuit with Hotels on site, various restaurants and all the usual extra's one finds a new F1 track.
