Trackdays vs. Touristenfahrten
Get the most from your time on track
We may lovingly nickname them “Terrorist Sessions”, but there’s no denying that Nürburgring public “Touristenfahrten” sessions are getting busier and busier.
You can get more out of your time on track by joining a pre-organised trackday - days that require pre-registration to participate. Prices may be a little bit higher than paying per lap, but if you’re planing on doing more than a couple rounds, then the difference is not huge.
For the investment in a trackday, the gains are immeasurable. You decide your limit on how many laps you do, and the number of people on track are in the hundreds, not the thousands or even tens of thousands. (Think Easter Friday weekend!)
Also, everyone has been safety briefed, there are no motorcycles on track, and you can drive the whole 2.8km long Döttinger-Höhe straight! If you’re at all serious about driving the ring - then do a trackday.
